The Assistant Branch Manager provides clients with courteous customer service in person or over the phone; strives to retain present customers and develop new business by extending professional and efficient service and suggesting additional services and products to serve clients needs. Assists in the supervision of a branch facility ensuring that all sales, service, audit and support goals are achieved.

Supervises branch staff ensuring that professional and courteous service is provided.Maintains thorough and current knowledge of all internal policies and procedures and bank products and services; assists branch manager in monitoring adherence to regulations, policies and procedures and ensures all employees understand and can communicate bank products and services.Conducts audits on regular monthly basis and as needed. Provides account information to customers including but not limited to account balances, histories, and stop payments.Assists clients in the reconciliation of their accounts.Performs maintenance, placement/removal of holds, and changes for all account types.Provides timely resolution of client complaints, concerns, and inquiries.Builds effective relationships and trust with clients and potential clients by listening to their needs and educating them about the bank products and services that are most appropriate to their situation.Responds effectively to clients requesting to close their accounts, determining the reason and offering possible alternatives.Maintains knowledge of changes to banking environment, bank competition, and client business environment.Supports marketing campaigns and product launches.Accurately completes settlements on a daily basis.Processes ATM transaction and assists in settlement.Cross-sells bank products by making quality referrals and recognizing opportunities to refer clients to others who are more knowledgeableProcesses clients transactions including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, checks, money orders and redeeming bonds; ensures all necessary information is in place prior to completing transaction.Opens new accounts including but not limited to checking, savings, certificate, and money market.Assists clients with loan applications. Meaningful participation in community service (CRA requirements).May accompany Branch Manager on business development calls.Prepares reports and correspondence as neededEnsures privacy of customer information at all times.Maintains workplace in a neat and professional manner.
High school diploma or equivalent.Three years related experience or equivalent.Excellent customer service skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to supervise, monitor and evaluate the work of others.Requires knowledge of standard office equipment including adding machines, calculators, PC literacy and basic typing skills. Commitment to excellence and high standards.Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructionsProfessional appearance and demeanorAbility to perform diversified clerical functions and basic accounting procedures.Acute attention to detail.Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.Must be able to work flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the branch.In the performance of respective duties, must maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies.Ability to travel to other locations for work assignments, meetings and training as required.
